Chicago Rush News Release

Chicago Rush lineman John Moyer was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance Sunday in Chicago's 65-35 win over Colorado, the Arena Football League announced today.

A first-team all-Arena performer in 2003, Moyer helped lead a Rush defense that put constant pressure on Crush QB John Dutton, forcing three turnovers and holding Colorado to just 165 total yards.

On Colorado's first possession of the game Moyer recovered a Chad Dukes fumble and returned it seven yards, setting up a Rush touchdown for an early 14-0 lead. Later, Moyer recorded his first sack of the season, bringing down Dutton on his own 3-yard line.

"It felt good to get my first sack and take the goose egg of the board," said Moyer. "Our defense is playing really well as a unit and I think that is because our core of linemen and linebackers has been together for a few years now."

The Rush (3-0) travels to Indianapolis this week for a Central Division battle with the Indiana Firebirds. Fans in Chicago can watch the game, beginning at 2 p.m., on NBC 5 Chicago or listen to Tom Dore and John Jurkovic call the action on ESPN 1000.

The Rush returns home to Allstate Arena Sunday, March 21, at 11 a.m. against the Orlando Predators. Fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to the game, or any of the Rush 2004 home games, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
