O'FALLON, MO - River City belted six home runs Sunday night in an 11-8 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. The Rascals doubled their season high total of three in one game with the six long balls.
River City (18-10) needed all six home runs to outlast Windy City as the Rascals led 6-2 entering the seventh inning. The Rascals allowed four unearned runs to tie the game up at six apiece. The Rascals responded with four runs of their own, highlighted by Joe Billick's three run blast for a 9-6 advantage. It was the first home run for Billick this season.

That was the end of the night for Jake Laber, who gave way to Eric Cordell. J.T. Restko grounded a ball to Gutierrez who shoveled to second for the out, which should have completed the inning. JoJo Batten's relay throw from second to first reached the seats for the second error. Bryan Cook with an RBI single and took second on a Chris Colton bobble out in center. Nate Hall then lined a home run into the right field bullpen to tie the game at six.
Laber picked up a no-decision after the Hall home run, allowing four runs (two earned) in 6.1 innings. The southpaw did give up seven hits, two walks and hit two batters in the outing.
The Rascals staked Laber to an early 3-0 lead with three runs in the first. Scott Houin singled and Batten smashed his first home run over the left field bleachers. Colton made it back-to-back home runs for River City with his sixth of the season.
River City added another in the third off Dustin Pease as Batten connected on his second homer of the night to make it 4-0. Pease lasted only four innings for Windy City, allowing four runs on five hits.
The two teams exchanged two runs in the fifth. Restko lifted a home run to left center to make it 4-2. Scott Robinson and Ryan Wehrle responded with two solo shots in the bottom half to push the lead back to four runs at 6-2.
Cordell (1-1) picked the win after suffering his first loss two nights ago in Evansville. The reliever allowed two hits and two unearned runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Tony Marsala worked the final two frames, allowing two runs in the ninth for the 11-8 final score.
