Crestwood, Ill. - Stephen Holdren drove in two with a triple and scored on an error and the Rascals' bullpen held on for a 4-3 win at Standard Bank Stadium, their first series win in Crestwood since 2006.

Don Lisi (6-1) and Matt Jernstad (5-8) pitched shutout baseball for six innings before the Rascals (55-19) pushed three runs across in the seventh on a two-run triple from Stephen Holdren who would score on an errant throw to third to give River City a 3-0 lead.

The Rascals would add a crucial insurance run in the top of the eighth with a sac-fly from Doug Sanders to stretch the lead to 4-0.

Lisi would pitch into the eighth, finishing the night with just four hits allowed before he was chased following a lead-off walk to start the eighth.

Consecutive walks issued by Kirkland Rivers loaded the bases and brought Brandon Cunniff into the game before an amazing catch from Jareck West turned in to a sacrifice fly instead of a three-run double to keep the lead at 4-1.

The ThunderBolts (37-38) continued to push in the eighth, scoring two more runs on a two-out single to close the game to 4-3.

Derrick Miramontes, who pitched two innings for the save in game two of the series, mowed down the 'Bolts in order in the ninth for his 14th save.

Combined with the CornBelters loss, the Rascals magic number to clinch a playoff spot now sits at one.

River City begins a three-game set at Joliet Friday night at 7:05. Wayde Kitchens takes the mound against former Rascal Ryne Miller.
