
Rascals Lose to Greys First Time this Season

O'Fallon, MO - The Rascals (21-15) lost 5-3 to the Frontier Greys (17-19) on Saturday, June 27 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
RHP Clay Smith (L, 0-1) made his professional debut out of St. Louis University. He surrendered three runs, two earned, on just three hits and a walk in 5.1 innings. The righty did not allow a hit until the fourth inning.
CF Curran Redal hit a leadoff homerun for the Rascals in the bottom of the first inning. It was Redal's first homer since 2013.
In the fourth inning, RF Jackson Slaid and SS Johnny Morales hit back-to-back two-out doubles and scored a run.
Bradon Tierney led off the sixth inning with a single. Julio Rodriguez then reached base on a fielder's choice to second base that did not result in an out. Scott Carcaise followed with a groundball through 1B Zach Kometani's legs that scored Tierney. Dillon Haupt singled in two runs, and Shane Brown followed with an RBI double.
The Rascals responded with a run in the bottom of the inning. 3B Taylor Ard singled, and 2B Hector Crespo doubled with one out. Slaid then drove in Ard on a groundout to shortstop.
RHP Chandler Jagodzisnki surrendered one run in 0.2 innings, and RHP Heith Hatfield surrendered one run, his second run of the season, in just 1.0 inning. RHP Zac Treece added 2.0 scoreless innings of relief.
Frontier starter Colin Feldtman (W, 3-1) ceded three runs and eight hits in 5.2 innings. Nick Anderson (S, 5) pitched the ninth inning and earned the save.
The Rascals and Frontier Greys finish their series on Sunday, June 28 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark at 4:05 p.m. CDT.
