
Rascals End Grizzlies Streak

Albert Ayala tossed a complete game for his first professional win Wednesday night as the River City Rascals ended the Grizzlies six game winning streak with a 7-1 victory at GCS Ballpark.
The Grizzlies managed just two hits against Ayala. Mike Breyman ended the shutout with a two-out solo home run to left in the ninth inning. The other hit came when Greg Andrews led off the fifth inning with a triple. He was later thrown out at the plate.
The Rascals got on the board with two runs on two hits in the first inning. Andy Bettis had a first inning RBI, while the other run scored on a wild pitch by Grizzlies starter Chris Little. Little (3-2) suffered the loss. He went 7.2 innings allowing four runs on four hits. He struck out a career high eight.
Brandon Kellback allowed three runs, two earned, in 1.1 innings of relief for the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies travel to Evansville to begin a four-game series with the Otters Thursday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
