Raptors host Beef at Rock Pile

The Rock River Raptors look to build on the momentum of their 70-37 win over the Peoria Rough Riders when they host the Omaha Beef Saturday, April 29th at "The Rock Pile". Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Raptors are currently 3-2 on the season while Omaha is tied for second in the UIF's West Division along with Sioux City, The Beef and Bandits are currently 2-3 on the season. The Bandits defeated the Beef 31-27 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

In Rock River's win over Peoria, quarterback Ben Sankey had a big night as he completed 16 of 23 passes for 208 yards and five touchdown passes.

One of Sankey's big targets on Saturday night was former Ohio State receiver John Hollins , who caught six passes for 86 yards and three touchdown catches. Another big target for the Raptors quarterback was another former Big Ten player as former Michigan wide-out Tyrece Butler caught five passes for 72 yards and two touchdown receptions.

The passing game was just one part of the Raptors offense as running back Randy Bell came alive in the second half as he rushed for 82 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns.

Rock River kicker Dillon Pieffer was perfect on the night as he made all 10 if his extra point attempts.

RAPTOR NOTES

RAPTOR PARK will open at 5:30 p.m. and will remain open until game time. Great food such as Burgers, Brats, Hot Dogs and Chips will be available for purchase along with beer, soda and water. Be there to hear music from Rolling Stones tribute band, TATTOO YOU. The band is made up of a group of veteran rockers from Rockford, who cover their favorite band and the World Greatest Rock N Roll Band, the Rolling Stones.

The National Anthem for the game against the Omaha Beef will be played by the St. Paul Lutheran School Pep Band.

The Raptors wrap up their three game homestand against UIF Central Division rival Bloomington on Saturday, May 6th. It will be Rally Towel Night as the first 3,000 fans will receive rally towels, sponsored by Fox-39 TV, Mountain Dew and the Rock River Raptors.
