GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. - Colorado Rockies pitcher Roy Oswalt shutout the Raptors for 5.2 innings in a rehab assignment to knock out the Ogden Raptors from playoff contention in a 3-1 loss to the Grand Junction Rockies Tuesday night at Suplizio Field.
Oswalt, rehabbing an injured left hamstring, kept the Raptors in check for most of the night. He threw 5.2 shutout innings, allowing just three hits and a walk, with two strikeouts.
Raptors catcher Kyle Farmer knocked Oswalt out of the game with a double to center field. He also hit single off the right-hander.
Raptors starter Luis De Paula kept Ogden in the game with a solid outing. The lefty, tagged with the tough-luck loss, allowed just one run in 5.1 innings on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts.

The Rockies extended their lead in the seventh. With one out, Cesar Galvez singled to right. Two batters later, Patterson singled to left on a hit-and-run, moving Galvez to third. With Dilone batting, Farmer allowed a passed ball, letting Galvez to score and the Rockies led 2-0.
The Raptors scored their lone run in the top of the eighth. With one out, Adam Law singled to right and stole second. Farmer and Joey Curletta hit consecutive singles to plate Law and cut the Rockies' lead in half, 2-1.
Grand Junction scored their final run in the bottom of the eighth. With two outs, Ryan Garvey hit a solo homer to center, his fourth of the season, giving the Rockies an insurance run and a 3-1 lead.
The loss eliminated the Raptors from playoff contention. Ogden is six games out of first place with five games remaining. This marks the first time since 2007 that the Raptors have missed the playoffs.
