Raptors 905, the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, announced Saturday the team has claimed guard Sterling Brown from the waiver wire. In a corresponding move, the team has waived guard Devon Daniels.
Brown, 6-foot-5, 219 pounds, has five years of NBA experience, most recently as a member of the 2021-22 Dallas Mavericks where he appeared in 49 games (three starts), averaging 3.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
A native of Maywood, IL, his career includes stops with the Milwaukee Bucks (2017-20), Houston Rockets (2020-21), and the Dallas Mavericks (2021-22). Brown appeared in 264 games (29 starts) and owns NBA career averages of 5.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 16.8 minutes per game (.420 FG%, .364 3FG%, .796 FT%).
Brown played 136 games (106 starts) across four seasons at the Southern Methodist University. In his final season as a Mustang, Brown averaged a career-best 13.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals before being drafted 46th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2017.
Daniels was selected with the 33rd pick in the 2022 NBA G League draft. The North Carolina State product appeared in seven games (no starts), averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per game.
