Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal - In this second day of the Montreal Alouettes training camp, at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, the intensity climbed up a notch since Monday. As much as the defence refused to give away one inch, the offence had to fight for everything.
For fullback Ãtienne Moisan, the Alouettes sixth round pick in 2018, this training camp means a lot. A year ago, he was a spectator at camp, sidelined by a hip injury. Unable to prove his worth, the Saint-Eustache, QC native thanked the Alouettes staff for the warm welcome and packed it up. He had to miss half of the last season with the Université Laval Rouge et Or and spent countless hours at the gym and at the clinic to come back even stronger, helping his team win a second Vanier Cup in as many years along the way. He worked hard and it's now paying off.
"I can finally realize my dream to try to be an Alouette," said Moisan. "I grew up watching this team, it's special to be here. This year, I am in perfect health and I feel strong physically and mentally. For now, things are going well and I want to continue to improve. It's day and night if I compare my situation to a year ago. I am so happy, I wake up with a smile on my face. I want to give everything to help this team win."
Rapid Fire
Safety Taylor Loffler made a nice interception by leaping high up in the air to snag the ball... The quarterbacks launched some rockets on Tuesday. Vernon Adams Jr., Jeff Mathews, Antonio Pipkin, Hugo Richard and Matt Shiltz all seem to be in great shape... Receivers Eugene Lewis and B.J. Cunningham made a few spectacular catches... Guard Kristian Matte showed great intensity on the offensive line, as he did not concede an inch to the opponents.
He said It
"It was great to practice with shoulder pads. The guys seem to be working well together. I am new on this team and I already feel part of this group. We have a great chemistry and I can't wait to start the season."
