Rapidz Transpo Passes Sing "Take me out to the Ball Game"

OTTAWA, May 19, 2008 - The Ottawa Rapidz and OC Transpo are delighted to announce terrific new transportation services and deals for baseball fans heading to the park this season.
For the duration of the 2008 baseball season, OC Transpo will operate a special frequent shuttle service between Ottawa Rapidz Stadium and Hurdman Transitway Station. The special Rapidz shuttle service will run approximately every five minutes starting an hour before the game, providing an ultra-efficient link with the expanse of OC Transpo's city-wide high-speed Transitway network.
"Our special new Rapidz Transit service will enable baseball fans across Ottawa to board frequent and fast Transitway buses at dozens of convenient collection points across Ottawa," said Alain Mercier, Director of Transit Services. "The Stadium is now within reach of many Ottawa fans with a quick ride from 37 Transitway stations, and with convenient free parking also available at seven Park & Ride lots."
In addition, the Ottawa Rapidz and OC Transpo have agreed to offer special Rapidz Transpo passes, bundling ballpark admission and transportation together in a single pass at highly affordable rates:
* A Rapidz Transpo Family Pass will be available for just $23 - providing unlimited members of an immediate family with ballpark admission, reserved best-available seating, and public transit to/from the ballpark from anywhere in Ottawa
* Rapidz Transpo individual passes will be available at $5 for children 14 and under, $8 for students and seniors, and $11 for adults. Like the family pass, the individual passes will provide ballpark admission, reserved best-available seating, and public transit to/from the ballpark from anywhere in Ottawa.

The new Rapidz Transpo passes may be purchased online at www.ottawarapidz.ca. The service will be in effect for all Rapidz home games during the 2008 regular season from May 22 to Sept 1.
