Rapids visit Sporting Kansas City before hosting Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, July 4, 2011) - The Colorado Rapids (5-5-8, 23 points) play two games this week, starting with a Wednesday visit to the brand-new LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to face Sporting Kansas City. The Rapids then return home on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The Rapids are coming off a 0-0 tie on Sunday night against the Houston Dynamo in the first of seven league matches in the month of July. Wednesday's game will be the Rapids' first-ever visit to LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, and just the fourth MLS game to be played in the new stadium. The match will be broadcast live on Altitude at 6:30 p.m. MT.

Colorado will then return to Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, July 9 to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the two clubs in MLS play, though the Rapids did earn a 1-0 win over the expansion Whitecaps in preseason action earlier this year.
