Rapids Radio Call-In Show Tonight

Plan on joining other Rapids fans tonight: Tuesday, May 6 from 7-8pm for Rapids Radio on KNRC, 1510am! This is your chance to call in and ask the questions about your Rapids that you've always wanted to ask.

Tonight the Rapids Radio Broadcast Team of Keith Bleyer and Frank Kohlenstein will be joined in-studio by Rapids Team Captain John Spencer. Also, in preparation for the Rapids' May 10th away game in Columbus, Ohio, the Crew's Brian Maisonneuve and Jon Busch will also be available for your questions.

You can call in on the KNRC Studio Line at (303) 297-1510 starting at 7pm tonight. Tune into 1510am, or you can listen to the show online over the internet by clicking on the link to KNRC posted on www.coloradorapids.com Last month's Rapids Radio show set a record number of callers into any of their shows! RAPIDS TO HOST CLINIC AND GAME IN COLORADO SPRINGS

The Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and the Colorado Rapids are partnering to host the "Colorado Rapids Challenge" in Colorado Springs over the next week.

The first opportunity for Colorado Springs-area residents to see the Rapids will be when select Rapids players and coaches conduct a youth soccer clinic this Thursday, May 8th, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The clinic is open to children aged 6-16 and will be held at Sand Creek Stadium. (Only a few spots are still available!) Then, the following Tuesday, May 13th, also at Sand Creek Stadium, the Colorado Rapids will take on the Boulder Rapids Reserve in a game that begins at 7:00pm.

MAY 17 3v3 ADULT PREGAME TOURNAMENT

The Rapids will host a 3 v 3 soccer competition outside INVESCO Field on the Sports Legends Mall prior to the game against the MetroStars on Saturday, May 17th. Each team will be guaranteed three fifteen-minute games. There will be a total of sixteen teams allowed in the competition, divided into four groups of four. The top two teams in each group will advance to the single elimination playoff round. A first & second place Final will be held, with a luxury suite being awarded to the champion team, and the second place team will receive 10 groups tickets to a future Rapids game. Six players will be allowed on each team roster. The entry fee per team is $240, and includes 20 Touchline seats for the May 17th game. RAPIDS QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Today's Rapids Quote of the Week comes from Darryl Powell, who currently plays at Sheffield Wednesday in the English First Division, and who is currently in Colorado on a guest trial period with the Rapids.

Darryl stopped in to check out the Rapids "Dusk Til Dawn" all-night soccer tournament, which took place at INVESCO Field at Mile High last Saturday night, and got his first taste of Denver cuisine with a stop at (care to guess?): BD's Mongolian BBQ.

Powell on his time in Denver so far: "It's been an exciting couple of days. I came here to get a look at many things: the setup, how the club is run, the facilities. So far it's been enjoyable. I met the coach and he's come across real well."
