The Rapids (6-6-9, 27 points) are coming off a high-scoring 4-3 loss at Seattle Sounders FC this past Saturday, and are looking for a second consecutive home win on Wednesday after topping Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-1 on July 9.
The New York Red Bulls (6-4-11, 29 points) are in second place in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 0-0 draw at Chivas USA.
