COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids jumped out to an early lead en route to a 3-0 win over Portland Timbers FC on Wednesday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, with Andre Akpan, Tony Cascio, and Jaime CastrillÃ"n all scoring for the home side.

The club also presented the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters Foundation and the Denver Center for Crime Victims with checks for $20,000 each, the result of fundraising throughout the summer to benefit firefighters and first responders.
