FRISCO, TX - The Colorado Rapids snapped a franchise long four consecutive draws falling to FC Dallas 2-1 Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park.

The Rapids entered the match knowing a win would clinch a playoff berth for the club and erase a two-year absence from postseason play, but now Colorado's postseason fate will come down to the final match of the regular season for a third consecutive season.

Dallas' third straight win keeps their postseason aspirations alive, as a loss or tie tonight would have ended any playoff plans for the team.

Dallas built a 2-0 lead behind goals from defenders George John and Ugo Ihemelu. For each player, it was their first goal of the season.

John scored on a free kick header in the 4th minute, while former Rapid Ihemelu tallied his score picking up a loose ball off another Dallas free kick.

Pat Noonan pulled one back for Colorado with a goal in the 71st minute creatively working his way through the box before finishing to the near post, as the Rapids comeback ultimately fell short.

The Rapids conclude the regular season traveling to face Rocky Mountain Cup rival Real Salt Lake on Saturday, October 24 at Rio Tinto Stadium at 7 pm MT.
