Rapids Cummings and Nyassi Called in for International Duty

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Thursday, March 17, 2011) - Colorado Rapids forward Omar Cummings and midfielder Sanna Nyassi have both been called in by their respective national teams for international play.

Cummings has been called up by the Jamaican National Team for their international friendlies against Venezuela on March 25 in Montego Bay, Jamaica and El Salvador on March 27 in San Salvador, El Salvador. The Bodles Crescent, Jamaica native has 21 career caps with the Reggae Boyz and has scored six goals in international competition.

Nyassi has three caps with the Gambian National Team and will join the Scorpions for their friendly against Equatorial Guinea on March 29 in Malabo.

As a result of these call ups, both Cummings and Nyassi are set to miss the Rapids game next week on Saturday, March 26 against Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center.

The Rapids open defense of their 2010 MLS Cup championship this Saturday, March 19, when they welcome the expansion Portland Timbers to Dick's Sporting Goods Park at 7 pm MT.
