
Rapids Auctioning Autographed, Game-Worn Jerseys to Benefit HelpColoradoNow.org

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, July 23, 2012) - The Colorado Rapids have opened the bidding on game-worn, autographed jerseys from the team's July 4 match, when the team wore uniforms featuring the Colorado state flag and the HelpColoradoNow.org logo across the chest. All proceeds from the auction will benefit organizations supporting disaster relief through HelpColoradoNow.org.
The auctions, which start as low as $100 and increase in increments of $10, are already open, and feature the jerseys worn by all players during the July 4 match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Fourteen of the jerseys are game-worn and signed by the players that wore them in the match, while four more shirts were issued to players that were available substitutes for the game but did not enter the match.
The players who have jerseys available at the online auction are: Tony Cascio, Conor Casey, Jaime CastrillÃ"n, Steward Ceus, Omar Cummings, Edu, Hunter Freeman, Jeff Larentowicz, Tyrone Marshall, Drew Moor, Brian Mullan, Joseph Nane, Matt Pickens, MartÃ-n Rivero, Jamie Smith, Wells Thompson, Marvell Wynne, and Luis Zapata.

HelpColoradoNow.org is a partnership between the Colorado Division of Emergency Management and the Colorado Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, which brings together government agencies and non-profit organizations to assist communities affected by disasters. It includes links to various organizations accepting donations of money and materials in their response to the wildfires, as well as information on volunteering to help the state recover from these disasters.
