Rapid City Rush News Release
(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush is proud to announce today that front office member John Hess will be making his way to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes. Hess will become the Coyotes' new Event Presentation Manager beginning immediately.
"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Hess. "I am excited to take everything I learned here in Rapid City and put it to use in the NHL. The experiences and knowledge I gained from working here with the Rush will prove to be invaluable in the NHL. Tim Hill and the rest of the Rush organization have set me up for success here and it has been an absolute pleasure entertaining the fans. The support that I have received from the community has made Rapid City a fantastic home for the past two years."
While with the Coyotes, Hess will oversee the development of audio/visual elements for in-game entertainment, in-game broadcasts, team advertising and sponsors. As the event producer, Hess will direct all control room operations, including management and scheduling of staff and he is also responsible for collaborating with the production team on creation and production of video board features and the game format.
"This is a feather in the hat of the Rush organization, and we couldn't be more proud of John," said Rush General Manager Tim Hill. "He is going to be extremely hard to replace, but just like our players, we encourage our staff to make it to the next level, in this case two levels."
A member of the Rush since August 2008, Hess served as Director of Game Operations, overseeing in-game events, sponsorships and in-game entertainment at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena.
