Head-to-Head:
In seven games this season, Kitchener are 3-2-2-0 earning at least a point in five of the seven games. Kitchener are 1-1-1-0 in Owen Sound this season at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Over the past five seasons, the Rangers are 10-7-2-1 in Owen Sound and 23-13-4-1 overall against the Attack.
Kitchener have now dropped three games in a row but were able to nab a point Friday night against Saginaw in a game that needed overtime to settle the score. The Rangers are 5-4-1-0 in their last ten games and sit in the eighth seed with 65 points on the year.
Owen Sound have earned a point in each of their last three games and most recently lost in overtime to the Barrie Colts on Friday night. Owen Sound are 6-2-2-0 in their last ten games and sit in the seventh seed in the Western Conference on 68 points.
Scouting the Rangers:
Francesco Arcuri (Dallas Stars) with one goal and two assists Friday night is now tied for the longest active Rangers points streak this season with points in ten-straight. Arcuri has recorded 18 points (9G 9A) in those ten games. With the three-point night, Arcuri has now joined Francesco Pinelli as the leading points scorer on the roster with 85 points (46G 39A) in 66 games.
Francesco Pinelli (Los Angeles Kings) who is joined by Arcuri for the team lead in points has 85 points (38G 47A) in just 56 games. Pinelli extended his current point streak to five games making it three goals and four assists in that span.
Hunter Brzustewicz has climbed the latter to the third highest points tally on the Rangers roster and the leading scorer by a defenceman. Bzustewicz has 54 points (6G 48A) in 63 games in his first OHL season. He ranks seventh in points and fourth in assists by a defenceman this season.
With Kitchener in the midst of another three-game set, Marcus Vandenberg figures to draw into a game this weekend. Vandenberg has yet to start against the Attack this season but has appeared in 20 games for Kitchener this season. Vandenberg has an 8-8-1-0 record with a 0.897 save percentage and 3.40 goals against average.
Francesco Arcuri (Dallas Stars), Tomáš Hamara (Ottawa Senators), Filip Mešár (Montréal Canadiens), Francesco Pinelli (Los Angeles Kings), Roman Schmidt (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Danny Zhilkin (Winnipeg Jets) are six Kitchener skaters that are both drafted, and signed, by their NHL clubs respectively.
Scouting the Attack:
Owen Sound were without their leading scorer Friday night in Colby Barlow who leads the roster in points with 79 points (46G 33A) in 59 games. Barlow is tied for the third most goals (46) in the OHL this season with Kitchener's Francesco Arcuri. He is also the only Owen Sound skater to rank inside the top 20 in points this season. Barlow had points in his last three games (2G 2A) before missing the game Friday night.
If Barlow remains out of the lineup, the offense will be fine as two other Attack skaters have six points each in the seven meetings against Kitchener this season. Deni Goure (2G 4A) in six games and the Montréal Canadiens prospect, Cedrick Guindon (2G 4A) in seven games have done damage against the Rangers this season.
Sam Sedley has totalled the most points by a defenceman on the Attack roster this season with 53 points (7G 46A) in 61 games. Sedley also has five points (2G 3A) in seven games against the Rangers. Sedley ranks sixth in assists by a defenceman in the OHL this season. He also is currently on a four-game points streak with four goals and two assists.
Servac Petrovsky (Minnesotta Wild) is another Attack skater with an active points streak. Petrovsky has points in three-straight recording two goals and five assists.
Cedrick Guindon (Montréal Canadiens), Kaleb Lawrence (Los Angeles Kings), and Servac Petrovsky (Minnesota Wild) are three Owen Sound skaters drafted by their NHL clubs respectively.
