Rangers Host Attack to Close Season Series Campaign on Friday Night

Kitchener, ON - The Rangers have picked up 16 points over their last 10 games going 8-2-0-0. The Rangers will look for another two points on Friday night as they host the Owen Sound Attack to close out their season campaign with them. Puck drop is set for 7 pm at The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

This Season:

The Rangers and Attack have faced off seven times this season with Kitchener having the overall advantage at 4-3-0-0. When playing at home, the Rangers have emerged victorious in one of three games. These seven games have been high scoring with an average of 6.57 goals per game. There is a seven-goal differential with the Rangers having netted 26 goals while the Attack have 19. The two clubs last played each other on March 6th in Owen Sound with the Rangers winning 5-1. The Rangers last played on Saturday in London where the Rangers fell short for a final score of 4-1. Mitchell Martin netted the Rangers' only goal which was assisted by Luca Romano and Carson Campbell. This was Martin's first goal since returning from a long-term injury on March 1st.

Razors Race:

Carson Rehkopf (Seattle Kraken) leads the Rangers in points with 89 and leads the OHL in goals with 50. The forward is known for his lethal shot in which he has taken the sixth most shots in the OHL this season with 243, averaging 4.4 shots per game with a 21% conversion rate. Rehkopf has registered a point in 41 games, 25 of which he recorded multi-point games in his 55 total games played this season. He has 10 goals and 9 assists over his last 10 games.

Brews Blueline:

Rangers' defenceman Hunter Brzustewicz signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames on Thursday. The defender has led the Rangers' blueline all season long with 12 goals and 73 assists for 85 points in 62 games. Brzustewicz has registered 12 points with three goals and nine assists over his last 10 games.

The Kid from Kitchener:

Matthew Sop hit the 40-goal mark on Friday night against the Flint Firebirds. The centreman has registered 40 goals and 45 assists for 85 points over his 62 games played this season. He has the second most points, second most goals, second most assists, second most game-winning goals (9), and the most short-handed goals (3) for the Rangers. Over his last 10 games, he has nine goals and six assists for 15 points.

Goaltending:

Jackson Parsons has played 47 games registering a 26-16-1-0 record, a 2.95 goals-against average (fourth in the league), and a .898 save percentage. Parsons is tied for the fifth most wins and the most shutouts (4) in the league. Against London on Saturday, Parsons was faced with 30 shots, allowing three for a .900 save percentage.

The Attack last played on Sunday afternoon in Erie winning the game in a shootout 7-6. Colby Barlow (Winnipeg Jets) had one goal and an assist, Cedrick Guindon (Montreal Canadiens) had two goals and an assist, Ben Cormier scored twice, and Landon Hookey registered a goal and an assist while Sam Sedley netted the shootout winning goal. Goaltender, Carter George was in net and was faced with 38 shots allowing six for a 5.54 goals against average and a .842 save percentage.

Attack to Watch:

Overage centreman Deni Goure is fifth in the league for points with 90. He has scored 33 goals and tallied 57 assists this season, which is good for the most points, the most assists, and the second-most goals for the Attack. He also has the most game-winning goals (8), tied for the most short-handed goals (3), the third-most power-play goals (9), and the best plus-minus (7).

Ethan Burroughs has 30 goals and 41 assists for 71 points this season which puts him as the second highest point-getter, third for goals, and third for assists on the Attack. Burroughs is one goal shy of setting his highest season goal tally. Over his last 10 games, he has four goals and seven assists for 11 points.

Sam Sedley set Owen Sound's franchise record for most career points by a defenceman on February 13th when he registered his 158th This season the defender has recorded nine goals and 50 assists for 59 points. Sedley has six points, all being assists over his last 10 games.

Point Streaks:

Deni Goure is currently on a 10-game point streak with a 5-10-15 stat line over these games.

Goaltending:

First-year goaltender Carter George has played 52 games with a 22-19-5-3 record, with a 3.17 goals against average and a .911 save percentage (first in the league). George is also tied with Parsons with the most shutouts in the league at four. The backstopper has started all seven games against the Rangers this season, facing 32 or more shots in each game, including 44 shots in the most recent matchup.
