
Rangers Head to Saginaw for Second Meeting of the Season

Saginaw, MI. - The Rangers travel to Michigan on Saturday, October 7th to face the Saginaw Spirit for their second matchup of the year. Puck Drop is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Dow Event Center.

Head- to- Head:
Kitchener and Saginaw have played each other 17 times over the last five years. Kitchener owns a 9-6-2-0 record over the Spirit. The Spirit holds the advantage over the Rangers having won five of the last eight games against them at home at the Dow Event Center.
In their last meeting on September 29th, the Rangers took down Saginaw 4-3 in their home opener. Mitchell Martin and Antonio Pugliese both grabbed a goal and an assist, which was good enough for Martin to earn the first star of the game.
The Rangers are 3-1-0-0 to start the season with a cumulative 17 goals for and nine goals against. Saginaw has only played two games in which they have recorded five goals for and five goals against. Special teams have proven to be strong in the young season for the Spirit as their penalty kill is 100% and powerplay is 40%. The Rangers' powerplay is not far behind having capitalized on 3 out of 11 chances to sit at 27% and their penalty kill is 84.2% success rate.
Scouting the Rangers:
Kitchener veteran Matthew Sop tallied one goal in the Rangers' last game against Owen Sound. Sop started the first four games of the season averaging a point per game: a goal and three assists. He is the fourth in team scoring for the Rangers. Adrian Misaljevic currently leads the team in points with seven (3G, 4A). Between the pipes, Jackson Parsons has taken the net in three of four games this season. He has recorded a 2.35 goals-against average and 0.917 save percentage.
Scouting the Spirit:
Hunter Haight (Minnesota) leads the Spirit with three points (1G, 2A) in the first two regular season games. Following closely behind is Michael Misa with two points (2G), these two goals were scored in Kitchener on opening night. Goaltender Andrew Oke has played in both games for the Spirit so far, he has recorded a 2.55 goals against average 0.907 save percentage.
