Rangers Claim Second Win in Two Days

The Rangers claimed their second victory in two nights as they defeated the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 3-1 before 3,187 fans at The Aud.

Alexei Dostoinov scored the lone goal of the first period to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.

William Wallen replied for the Majors when he beat Josh Unice with a high shot at 2:23 in the second period to tie the score 1-1.

Jason Akeson deflected a point shot by Dan Kelly at the 16:41 mark in the third to put the Rangers ahead 2-1. T.J. Battani followed up with an empty net goal to close out the scoring.

Mississauga's JP Anderson was tested 43 times while the Major's directed 17 at Josh Unice.

The Rangers travel to Mississauga tomorrow for their second match-up at 2:00pm. The Rangers return to The Aud for their home opener on Friday, September 19th against the Plymouth Whalers. Game time is 7:30pm.
