Kitchener Rangers News Release
The Kitchener Rangers have acquired forward Liam Hawel from the Guelph Storm.
In exchange, the Storm will receive the following:
2nd round pick in 2020
2nd round pick in 2023
3rd round pick in 2023
Hawel is a 20 year-old forward entering his overage Ontario Hockey League season, having totaled 162 points in 259 games played. This past season, the fourth round selection of the Dallas Stars in 2017 recorded 78 points in 66 games (including 13 points in 24 playoff games) to help the Storm win the OHL Championship.
"We would like to welcome Liam to the Rangers. He will be a huge addition to our team up front and give us another high end forward that can produce offense," said Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie.
"He will also add some size and strength to our lineup, which will help create space for other players and make our team more difficult to play against. We look forward to seeing Liam continue his junior career in Kitchener."
