Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

GRAND RAPIDS - The Grand Rapids Rampage continued to collect Arena Football League accolades today, as receiver Kenny Higgins (Long Beach, Calif.) was named to the All-AFL Second Team. The second-year receiver and former AFL All-Rookie Team member became the first Rampage player to crack the All-AFL roster since Willis Marshall in 2002.

Higgins put together one of the most explosive seasons ever for a Grand Rapids receiver, as his 1,552 receiving yards ranked fourth most in the AFL in 2008 and third most in Rampage team history. He averaged 13.9 yards per catch, the third highest of any AFL receiver with at least 80 receptions. Additionally, his 112 receptions were the fourth most in Grand Rapids' single-season annals.

Most important was Higgins' ability to find the end zone. The University of Toledo product ranked fifth in the AFL with 34 touchdown receptions, added five rushing touchdowns and recovered a pair of fumbles on special teams for scores. Higgins' 248 points were the third most in the AFL this season, and rank as the second most in Rampage history behind Terrill Shaw's 254 points in 2003.

Grand Rapids will make its return to the AFL playoffs this Monday when it travels to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Rattlers at 9:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.
