Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

The Arena Football League has announced that Grand Rapids Rampage WR/DB Timon Marshall is the Week 12 AFL Ironman of the Week following his outstanding two-way performance in the team's 45-42 win over the Arizona Rattlers.

Marshall (5'09," 188 lbs., Ottawa) caught seven passes for 76 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown. He led the Rampage with a career-high 6.0 tackles and a pass breakup on defense. Marshall also returned three kickoffs for 28 yards. On a 14-yard reception in the second quarter, he became the first player in Rampage history to record 1,000 receiving yards and 1,000 yards in kickoff returns in the same season.

This marks Marshall's first career AFL Ironman of the Week award and is the sixth by a Rampage player in team history. Earlier in the season, Marshall was named the AFL Writers Association's Player of the Week and ArenaFan.com's Two-Way Player of the Week for his performance in the team's Week Four win over San Jose.

Through 12 games, Marshall leads the Rampage in all-purpose yards (2,227), receiving yards (1,052), kickoff returns (57 for 1,081) and missed field goal returns (2 for 59 yards). He ranks second in the AFL in all-purpose yards, trailing the AFL leader, Dallas' Will Pettis, by just 45 yards.

For the first time in team history, the Rampage has had two players named AFL Ironman of the Week in the same season (Josh Bush, Week Eight vs. Utah). Add in the Week Three ADT Defensive Player of the Week award for Johnnie Harris and the Rampage has tied a team mark for most AFL weekly awards in a single season (three in 2001).

The Rampage, which has won four of six games at home this season, takes on the Nashville Kats this Saturday, April 29 on Centennial Wireless Field at Van Andel Arena. Kickoff is slated for 8:00 p.m. Tickets for this and all Rampage home games are available through StarTicketsPLUS (1.800.585.3737), at all Michigan Meijer locations or at The Zone (located on the west side of Van Andel Arena).
