Chicago Wolves News Release

SAN ANTONIO---Joey Crabb netted his first goal of the season to tie the game, 1-1, in the last minutes of the first period, but the Wolves allowed a power-play goal in the second frame and never regrouped, suffering an eventual 2-1 loss to the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center Wednesday night.

Both Rampage goals came from former Wolves forward Alex Bourret, who beat Chicago goaltender Ondrej Pavelec (0-2-0) with two point-blank attempts. The right wing sunk the eventual game-winner when he knocked in a rebound with six seconds left in the middle frame to put San Antonio on top for good, 2-1. Right wing Derek Nesbitt fired a blast, which Pavelec stopped, but the goaltender coughed up the rebound to Bourret, who was waiting on the doorstep.

San Antonio (1-1-0-0) opened the scoring when Bourret took a pass from defenseman David Schlemko in the slot, skated in on Pavelec and ripped a shot to the back of the net, 12:50 into the first period. Pavelec made 32 saves for Chicago (0-1-1-0) in the loss.

Crabb evened the score, 1-1, with 2:13 remaining in the first period to account for Chicago's only offense. The right wing battled with San Antonio center Garth Murray along the boards before gaining control, spinning around and snapping a backhanded shot past San Antonio netminder Josh Tordjman.

Tordjman (1-0-0) stopped 25 Wolves attempts for the Rampage.

The Wolves wrap up a three-game road trip to start their 15th season when they face the Quad City Flames at I Wireless Center Friday at 7 p.m. The team will host the Peoria Rivermen in the home opener at the Allstate Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m.
