
Rampage Sign Wacey Rabbit to AHL Contract

SAN ANTONIO (September 21, 2011) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed center Wacey Rabbit to an AHL contract.
Rabbit, 24, joins the Rampage for his fifth season in the AHL. Last season he played in 53 games with KHL Medvescak Zagreb in the Austrian Elite League posting 12 goals and 27 assists.
The Lethbridge, Alberta native has recorded 34 goals and 47 assists in 238 career AHL games split between Milwaukee Admirals (2009-10) and Providence Bruins (2006-09). He has skated in 23 AHL playoff games contributing five goals and two assists (2008-10).
The 5-foot-9, 171-pound center compiled 222 (91 goals, 131 assists) in 289 Western Hockey League (WHL) appearances over the course of six seasons with the Saskatoon Blades (2001-06) and Vancouver Giants (2006-07). He helped the Giants win the Memorial Cup Championship in 2007 contributing 11 goals and nine assists in 22 playoff games.
Rabbit was selected by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (154th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
