San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO- The San Antonio Rampage (11-13-2-0) fell to the Tucson Roadrunners (11-5-3-0) 5-4 in overtime at the AT&T Center Friday night. San Antonio landed the first goal of the evening when Troy Bourke collected his third of the season from Mike Sislo and Sergei Boikov at 7:53. Tucson answered less than a minute later thanks to an unassisted goal from Kyle Wood at 8:47. Despite the Tucson goal, the Rampage shifted the momentum back in their favor when A.J. Greer registered back-to-back goals at 10:32 and 14:38. Troy Bourke and Garry Nunn assisted Greer on his first, while Cody Corbett and Nunn set up a tip-in opportunity for Greer as he lit the lamp for the second time. The Roadrunners cut into the lead at the 16:28 mark when Christian Fischer netted his first of the night on a series of passes from Laurent Dauphin and Brandon Burlon. Despite San Antonio replacing goaltender Kent Simpson in favor of Jeremy Smith, the scoring continued as Tucson tied the game at three when Dakota Mermis scored his second of the season from Trevor Cheek and Hunter Fejes. San Antonio took a 4-3 lead three minutes later when Garry Nunn tipped-in a blast from Greer and Boikov at 13:23. The Rampage held their lead into third stanza until Dauphin and Mermis fed Fischer for a short-handed goal at the 11:49 mark. Fischer's third-period goal sent the contest into overtime, where he eventually solidified a Tucson victory with a game-winning goal 19 seconds into period.
