San Antonio Rampage News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY (February 2, 2012) - The San Antonio Rampage fell to the Oklahoma City Barons by a score of 3-0 at the Cox Convention Center on Thursday night.
The Barons took a 1-0 lead with 58 seconds remaining in the opening frame. Forward Hunter Tremblay received a pass from left wing Magnus Paajarvi and ripped a shot over the left shoulder of Rampage goalie Dov Grumet-Morris for his 11th goal of the season. Right wing Mark Arcobello notched the secondary assist on the play.
Oklahoma City right wing Ryan Keller extended the lead for the Barons at the 19:35 mark of the second period. With Oklahoma City on the power play, Keller skated into the Rampage zone and wristed a shot from the high slot that eluded Grumet-Morris and put Oklahoma City ahead 2-0. Center Josh Green posted the only assist on Keller's 16th marker of the year.
Center Ryan O'Marra capped the scoring at 3-0 when he converted on a two-on-one rush with left wing Antti Tyrvainen with 2:38 remaining in the third. O'Marra beat Grumet-Morris to the goalie's right side to register his eighth goal of the campaign. Forward Tanner House also assisted on the O'Marra tally.
Barons backstop Yann Danis turned aside all 26 Rampage shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the year and 19th win of the season. Grumet-Morris stopped 27 of 30 Oklahoma City attempts in the San Antonio loss.
The Rampage (24-19-2-0) return home tomorrow for their sold-out Pink in the Rink Night contest against the Lake Erie Monsters. The ice will be painted pink for the 7 p.m. (CST) game at the AT&T Center.
