Ramirez Walk off Gives Suns Victory

The Hagerstown Suns (12-20, 48-54) JP Ramirez came through with the game winning sac fly in the tenth to beat the West Virginia Power (13-19, 44-58) 5-4.

The Suns started the journey in the third inning with Marcus Jones hitting a double to center field. With Jones on third after a sacrifice bunt by Eury Perez, Jeff Kobernus drove him in with a single.

West Virginia answered back in the fifth inning with Jesus Brito getting a single to left. With runners on first and second, Jose Hernandez brought them in with a double. Two more tallies were brought in as Aaron Baker hit a two run homer to right field making the score 4-1.

Hagerstown got a breath of fresh air in the bottom of the sixth as Destin Hood hit a solo home run to center fielding cutting the Power lead 4-2.

With Perez on second after a single and later stole second, Jeff Kobernus was put on base with a walk. Tying the game 4-4 was a solid double by Rick Hague hit to left field.

Third baseman Justin Bloxom started the momentum for the tenth inning by hitting a single to center field. Next up, Destin Hood brought Bloxom in perfect scoring position with a double on a line drive. Ramirez drove in the game winning run after hitting a sacrifice fly to left field.

Rob Wort (4-0) got the win coming in the top of the ninth having three strikeouts. Paul Demny was the starter for the Suns pitching six innings with seven strikeouts and giving up four runs.

Zachary Foster (4-3) got the loss pitching the bottom of the ninth giving up the game winning run to the Suns. Jason Erickson was the starter pitching into the seventh giving up four runs.
