
Ramirez Traded to Cleveland Organization

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves announced today that 2006 South Atlantic League All-Star Maximilliano Ramirez has been traded to the Cleveland Indians organization for Major League All-Star closer Bob Wickman. Ramirez will report to the Lake County Captains of the Northern Division of the SAL while Wickman will join the Atlanta Braves.
Ramirez was batting .294 with 16 doubles, nine home runs, 34 RBI, and 46 walks this season for the Rome Braves. Wickman was 1-4 on the year for the Cleveland Indians with a 4.18 ERA and 15 saves. He has a career 60-55 record with a 3.64 ERA and 229 saves in 14 Major League seasons. He is a two time Major League All-Star. In 2005, Wickman recorded 45 saves for the Indians.
Rome takes on the Kannapolis Intimidators in a four game series beginning tonight. The Braves return home on Monday July 24th to begin an eight game home stand. Tickets are available at the Rome Braves ticket office or fans can purchase online at www.romebraves.com.
