Rall Pitching Well in Mariners Organization

San Bernardino, CA- Former Bangor Lumberjack Tim Rall is pitching well for the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino, the High-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners purchased Rall's contract from the Lumberjacks on July 15.

As a member of the Inland Empire 66ers of the California League, Rall is 1-3 with a 4.06 ERA. Tim made four starts before being shifted to the bullpen. The rookie out of St. Andrew's Presbyterian College in North Carolina, has struck out 26 and walked just 8 in 31 innings.

The Lumberjacks drafted Rall with the seventh overall pick in the 2003 Northeast League open tryout in Florida this March. While with the Jacks, he went 4-0 with a 1.81 ERA in nine starts, fanning 58 and walking 22 in 59.2 innings. He was named Northeast League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 7.

"It's great to see Tim doing well. We are all very confident that he will continue to impress in the Mariners organization and I'm excited to see what the future will hold for him," stated Lumberjacks General Manger Curt Jacey.

Rall holds the SAPC career records for most appearances (120), innings pitched (300.2) and strikeouts (302) as well as the single season records for most wins (11), set in 2001, and appearances (34), set in 1999 and 2000.

The Lumberjacks final home stand of the season begins on Tuesday, August 26 against the Allentown Ambassadors. It's Two for Tuesday, meaning that fans who purchase a general admission or reserved ticket, get a second one free. Tuesday's game begins at 7:15. Gates open at 6 PM.
