Daytona Beach, FL - The Marauders (11-8, 43-46) scored three times in the first inning and led wire to wire to win 5-2 at Daytona (9-9, 46-42). The Marauders split the series after dropping the first two games.
DH Justin Maffei led off the game with a single off Jonathan Crawford (L, 0-1). CF Austin Meadows singled to put two on before LF Barrett Barnes opened the scoring with a two-run triple. Barnes scored one out later on a sacrifice fly from SS JaCoby Jones that made the score 3-0.
LHP Jayson Aquino (W, 4-8) fired six innings and allowed his only run on a solo blast by Brian O'Grady in the fifth inning. RHP Montana DuRapau closed the game with a 1-2-3 inning for his second save.
Maffei finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI as the Marauders stayed two games behind Palm Beach for first place in the South Division.
NOTES: The game began at 7:24 p.m. following a 19 minute delay, under overcast skies, 94 degrees, and wind blowing 5 mph out to left field ... The Marauders have completed their longest stretch of consecutive game days (22) this season ...
