Rain postpones opener against Royals

Steady rain that began last night and continued throughout the day caused for exceptionally poor field conditions and tonight's Albuquerque Isotopes game against the Omaha Royals at Isotopes Park is postponed. Tonight's game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader that will begin on Sunday, May 18 at 1:35 PM. Friday and Saturday night's games will remain at their originally scheduled 7:05 PM start.

The Salute to 3-Million Fans that was originally scheduled to occur during tonight's game has been moved to Friday and will coincide with the originally scheduled Isotopes Hat Giveaway to the first 3,000 fans that enter Isotopes Park courtesy of First Community Bank.

The Isotopes look to regain their winning ways with right-hander Frankie De La Cruz (5-1, 5.40) taking the mound Friday night against O-Royals righty Kyle Davies (4-2, 2.43).

On Saturday, May 17 the ‘Topes will host Military Appreciation Night complete with a Post-Game Fireworks extravaganza. Sunday, May 18 closer Joe Nelson and infielder Andrew Beattie will be on hand for the first of six pre-game autograph sessions courtesy of the Albuquerque Journal. During the game, the return of fan favorite Rockin' Ray and The Amazing Skyy Dogs will be entertaining fans with his cast of acrobatic canines presented by CASA Automotive.
