Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

Moosic, Pa. - With the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) playing 16 of 20 on the road, home games are at a premium. The squad wraps up its May schedule at PNC Field when it welcomes in the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) for four games starting this Thursday night. Star Wars Night, the Boy Scout campout and a Memorial Day celebration are just some of the highlights of the four-game set with the Bulls.

The homestand kicks off on Thursday night, which means it will be a Thirsty Thursday presented by Budweiser. Pepsi products and Bud Light will be just one dollar for two hours once the gates open at 5:30 p.m. The Wannabees will perform in the plaza prior to first pitch, which is set for 6:35 p.m. The game will also be broadcasted live on My Network TV with the Voice of the RailRiders, John Sadak, and FOX56 Sports Director Bob Ide on the call.

Fans at PNC Field will be sure to have a blast on Friday night, as Friday Fireworks presented by Jack Williams Tire & Auto Service Center will follow the game. The RailRiders will honor numerous Boy Scout troops in the area on Boy Scout night, and the scouts will be camping on the field after the fireworks. Over and Out will be entertaining fans as they walk into PNC Field prior to first pitch at 7:05 p.m.

Saturday should make for one of the best nights of the year at PNC Field. Bring your lightsaber as Star Wars Night will be celebrated at the ballpark. RailRiders staffers will be on the lookout for the best costumes at PNC Field. Fans can come and see their favorite characters from the epic series, take pictures and get autographs, but only if the force is with them. With grilling season right around the corner, the RailRiders will help fans get a jumpstart. The first 1,500 fans (18 & over) will receive a BBQ grill set presented by Blue Cross of NEPA. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. The game will also air live on My Network TV with Sadak and Ide on the call.

The RailRiders conclude the May portion of their home schedule on Sunday afternoon. As always, Sunday is a Family FUNday presented by NEPA Honda Dealers. The first 5,000 fans will receive a mini-American flag as the RailRiders celebrate Memorial Day. Select RailRiders players will be signing autographs prior to the game and kids will be able to run the bases following the contest. Gates open at noon, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

With no upper deck at PNC Field anymore, every seat in the ballpark provides the supreme views and intimacy that make minor league baseball so special at incredibly affordable prices.
