North Carolina FC News Release
The Carolina RailHawks are set to begin their quest for the oldest trophy in the world of its kind. The first fixtures of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will take place on Tuesday June 12th and the RailHawks will host RWB Adria, an amateur team from Chicago, at 7:30 PM at SAS Soccer Park in Cary.
"We are truly excited to begin our quest for this prestigious trophy on our home field," said RailHawks President and General Manager Chris Economides. "I have tasted success in this competition in Rochester in 1999, and look forward to repeating those emotions here in Cary."
The Carolina RailHawks are still undefeated at home having forced the Rochester Rhinos to a 2-2 tie. Connally Edozien scored both goals for Carolina and is poised to add more notches to his belt.
RWB Adria will be looking to topple the Railhawks defense by continuing their successful streak that has also brought them to the Illinois State Cup Final following a 4-2 win over Elk Grove Arsenal last week.
The game kicks off at 7:30 PM and tickets are still available by calling 919-859-5425 or by visiting the Box Office at SAS Soccer Park. Season ticket holders must use the voucher marked Exhibition Game #2
