Portland, OR - The first road game of the Carolina RailHawks' 2009 season ended in a scoreless tie as Carolina drew the Portland Timbers 0-0 at PGE Park on Thursday night. Despite outshooting the Timbers 11 to 7 in the first half, the RailHawks were not able to capitalize on the numerous opportunities but kept Portland's offense at bay.

"I thought we played well especially in the first half," said RailHawks coach Martin Rennie. "We were dangerous in the second half but in the end the result is fair as we saw two good teams. I am looking forward to Saturday to see if we can go one better."

The match saw the return of Matt Watson to USL-1 play as well as the RailHawks debut of Ukrainian native Andriy Budnyy who were both second half substitutions.

The RailHawks (3-0-1) remain undefeated and on top of the USL-1 tables. They will look to stay in first place when they continue their two-game road trip on Saturday, May 2, at 10 p.m. as they take on the Timbers in a rematch of Thursday night's game. Saturday night's showdown will be broadcast live and free on USLLive.com.
