RailHawks lose for second time this season

Cary, NC (Thursday, June 12th 2008) - The Carolina RailHawks (3-2-4) lost their second match of the season to the Puerto Rico Islanders (2-3-3) 3-0 on Thursday night at Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, PR; only two days after defeating the Brooklyn Knights 1-0 in a hard fought match in the first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup last Tuesday. Former RailHawks midfielder Jonny Steele recorded two assists as Taiwo Atieno, John Krause and Noah Delgado tallied one goal each. The RailHawks played the last fifteen minutes of the match one man down for the ejection of midfielder Ryan Solle after garnering two cautions in the 17th and 76th minute.

Next the RailHawks continue their road trip in Miami on Saturday, June 14th then on to Rochester on Friday, June 20th and Montreal on Sunday June 22nd. All road matches can be viewed live and on demand on the USL's broadband channel www.USLLive.com. The RailHawks will return home for the second round of the US Open Cup on Tuesday, June 24th against the winner of the Real Maryland - NY Pancyprian Freedom which will take place this Friday. The next regular season home game for the Carolina RailHawks will be on Friday, June 27th as the RailHawks host the Portland Timbers at WakeMed Soccer Park at 8:00 PM and the RailHawks Women host the Hampton Roads Piranhas on Saturday June 28th at 7:30 PM.
