North Carolina FC News Release
Cary, N.C. - The Carolina RailHawks will be hosting two free clinics for underprivileged youth this week. On Wednesday, August 11 they will host Redline United with a group of Ukrainian orphans at WakeMed Soccer Park and on Sunday, August 15 they will be at Bond Park in Cary as part of the Diamante, Inc. Ritmo Latino Festival.
"We are so excited to have the community come together with so much enthusiasm and generosity towards these Ukrainian orphans," said Eleni Lobene of Redline United. "The experiences the RailHawks are facilitating, both through donated tickets to a Saturday game and a private soccer clinic for the boys, will surely create lifelong memories for the kids."
Redline United, a non-profit group dedicated to people in need, organized a trip for a group of Ukranian orphans to come to North Carolina. The children and their host families were invited to a watch the RailHawks match last Saturday and will now participate in a free clinic conducted by Ukrainian national and RailHawks forward Andriy Budnyy. The clinic will take place at WakeMed Soccer Park on Wednesday, August 11 from 9 to 11 a.m.
"Diamante is grateful to have the RailHawks host a soccer clinic for the second year in a row," said Diamante, Inc. executive director Raphael Osuba. "This is a great opportunity for children to learn skills from professional athletes."
On Sunday, August 15, the RailHawks will be at Fred Bond Park in Cary for the second annual free clinic at Ritmo Latino. The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m. Diamante is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, development, and promotion of the culture, heritage, and artistic expressions of the diverse Hispanic populations in North Carolina. Its goal is to bridge the gap between the Anglo and the Latino cultures by integrating all communities through their events. Visit www.diamanteinc.org or call 919-852-0075 to learn more about Diamante and register in advance for the clinic.
Looking ahead, the RailHawks return to the pitch for a mid-week game on Wednesday, August 11 as they host the Rochester Rhinos at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7 p.m. For tickets and information please contact the LGFCU Box Office at 919-859-5425 or visit www.carolinarailhawks.com.
