Accolades Continue for Carolina RailHawks
Goalkeeper Chris McClellan Honored by USL
Cary, NC (Tuesday, May 20th, 2008) - The still undefeated Carolina RailHawks continue their positive streak of honors this week as goalkeeper Chris McClellan was named the USL-1 Goalkeeper of the Week for week 5. McClellan was honored for his six saves in the scoreless draw against the Minnesota Thunder last Sunday night including what could arguably be the save of the year that came in the 78th minute on a free kick by Ricardo Sanchez.
"Chris has been playing great all season," said RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. "He's been putting in a lot of hard work in the off season and during the season. I think he's the best goalkeeper in the league and this honor is well deserved."
Chris McClellan will continue to excite fans with his great saves on Saturday, May 24th when the Carolina RailHawks host the Rochester Rhinos in the second game of the first ever Carolina RailHawks doubleheader at 7:30 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. It will be the Inaugural Memorial Day 2 for 1 deal where fans will be able to enjoy two soccer matches for the price of one. The 4:00 PM match between the Carolina RailHawks Women and the Carolina Dynamo and the 7:30 match between the RailHawks USL-1 team and the Rochester Rhinos.
