
RailCats Steal Game 2 Late, 5-3

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The AirHogs once again fell to the RailCats 5-3 at AirHogs Stadium Tuesday. The RailCats scored all 5 runs with 2 outs to win Game 2 of the series.
LHP Griffin Russell got the ball to start for the AirHogs. After striking out the 1st 2 he faced, the RailCats tagged him with a base hit, a walk and an unearned run on an error to go up 1-0.
The AirHogs struck back in the bottom of the 2nd on a 2-RBI double by Cody Lenahan that scored Devon Rodriguez and Mike Miller. Lenahan ranks 2nd in the American Association with 12 doubles.
The AirHogs added a run by an RBI single from Devon Rodriguez in the 3rd. Rodriguez finished 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI.
Gary got to Russell for 2 more runs before he exited after the 6th. Tyler Harris held them scoreless in the 7th and 8th, but the visitors got an RBI double from Frank Martinez and an RBI triple by Jeremy Hamilton off David Wayne Russo to establish a 5-3 lead they would not allow to be cut.
Russo took the loss, while Santiago Rodriguez, who pitched a scoreless 8th, got the win. Taylor Black notched his 2nd save of the series by stranding 2 on base in the bottom of the 9th.
The AirHogs (13-19) and RailCats (17-15) conclude the 3-game set tomorrow at 7:05. RHP Sam Martin is expected to start for the AirHogs.
