RailCats Release 2013 Promotional Schedule

GARY, Ind. - The RailCats are preparing to bring another summer of fun and family-affordable entertainment to Northwest Indiana, and this season's schedule is full of awesome giveaways, thrilling entertainment acts and special themes, events and deals for all 50 home games.
There will be a flurry of activity for opening weekend, as the RailCats start their 11th season of play at U. S. Steel Yard. Opening Night on Thursday, May 16 will include a magnet schedule for all fans along with a post-game fireworks display. The next night, prepare to be amazed as "The Burning Man" returns to U. S. Steel Yard for the first time since 2011. He will set himself on fire and run the bases following the game. The first 1,000 fans in the ballpark on Saturday, May 18, will receive a RailCats baseball cap giveaway.
Appearances to circle on the calendar include the arrival of "The Fur Circus" on Friday, June 21. This FUR-tastic group of characters will bring entertainment and lots of laughs for kids and adults of all ages! The Traveling World of Reptiles will make appearances on June 28 and August 3, giving fans a live, hands-on experience with reptiles. One of the performers will even throw out the first pitch while a snake rest on his shoulders!
RailCats fans always anticipate the awesome giveaways on Souvenir Saturday, and there are some must-have items this season. On June 8, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Yowie rally towel. The Yowie is the rally towel that you can wear! Use it as a headband, a beanie, a scarf, a hair cover, or an old-fashioned rally towel. On June 22, the first 1,000 fans will collect a jute bag, a reusable, eco-friendly bag that is perfect for the beach or a day on the town. Get ready to step into the "ÃË80s on June 30, when the first 1,000 kids will get a RailCats slapwatch!
All fans are invited to join the RailCats for a beach bash on July 13, when the first 1,000 fans receive a RailCats beach towel. The fun continues on August 3 with a brand new giveaway-RailCats boxers for the first 1,000 adults! Everyone will be a winner on August 16 for Millionaire Night, when the first 1,000 fans will receive envelopes stuffed with cash and the first 1,000 fans 18 and older will also receive a "Cash for Life" scratch-off ticket from Hoosier Lottery!
Fans can start preparing for fall weather on August 18, when the first 1,000 through the gates will collect a RailCats fleece blanket. Then, add to the collection on August 31 with a RailCats scarf for the first 1,000 fans. Finally, September 2 is Fan Appreciation Day, and the first 1,000 fans will receive the RailCats team photograph.
In addition to the baseball and entertainment, the RailCats are rolling out new weekly specials for the 2013 season, with an outstanding deal for every day of the week:
