
RailCats Re-Sign Reliever Carlos Pinales

GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Carlos Pinales on Wednesday afternoon and have placed catcher Jeff Sneed on waivers.
Prior to getting waived on June 23rd, Pinales had one save and a 4.26 ERA. Pinales began his career with Gary in 2016, finishing 0-3 with a 9.48 ERA in five games (two starts).
Pinales spent four seasons in the Boston Red Sox minor league system after signing as an international free agent at the age of 18 in 2010. Pinales was named a Mid-Season All-Star with the Lowell Spinners (Class-A) after tying for the league lead with 15 saves in 2014.
Sneed signed his first pro contract with Gary on June 30th and recorded a single in his first professional at-bat on June 29th in Canada vs. the Winnipeg Goldeyes. In two games (one start), Sneed went 1-for-5 with a run.
Gary continues their seven-game homestand on Wednesday night at 7:10 p.m. vs. Fargo-Moorhead. Two-time All-Star Rosario (5-3, 3.26) counters against RedHawks right-hander Jose Almarante (2-3, 5.03) in the rubber game of the series.
