WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes (29-25) lost 15-1 to the Gary SouthShore RailCats at Shaw Park on Friday night.

The RailCats (22-33) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Alec Olund tripled to centre field with two outs and scored on a single to centre from Thomas Walraven.

Daniel Lingua led off the top of the third with a home run to right, and the RailCats made it 3-0 later in the inning on an RBI single from Chris Burgess.

Michael Woodworth drew a one-out walk in the top of the fourth, stole second base, took third on a groundout to first from Lingua, and scored Gary SouthShore's fourth run on a wild pitch.

Burgess hit a two-run home run to centre in the top of the fifth, and the RailCats made it 7-0 three batters later when Walraven hit a two-out, solo shot to left.

The Goldeyes scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth when Raul Navarro's infield single to shortstop ricocheted into left field and allowed Ian Sagdal to score from second base.

The RailCats re-extended the lead to 10-1 in the top of the seventh on a Jackson Smith RBI double, and a two-out, two-run home run off the left field foul pole from Walraven.

In the top of the ninth, Gary SouthShore added five more two-out runs on a Jesus Marriaga RBI single and a Leugim Castillo grand slam home run to right-centre.

Goldeyes' starter Alex Manasa (2-3) took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, on nine hits in four and two-thirds innings. Manasa walked three and struck out two.

Jack Eisenbarger (2-4) started for the RailCats and picked up the win, pitching five shutout innings on three hits. Eisenbarger walked one and struck out nine.

Sagdal's 11-game hitting streak came to an end.

The series continues Saturday evening at 6:05 p.m. Luis Ramirez (6-2, 3.92) faces right-hander Adam Heidenfelder (1-5, 4.89).
