Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, Ill. - Nick Anderson earned Kane County's second walk-off hit of the season with a single as the Atomic Pork Chops claimed a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Milkmen on Friday night at Northwestern Medicine Field. It was the third time this season that the Kane County Cougars took on the "Atomic Pork Chops" identity.

Entering the bottom of the 11th inning, Kane County (29-26) trailed Milwaukee (25-28) 3-2. Josh Rolette started at second base and Cornelius Randolph led off the inning by drawing a walk from Milwaukee reliever DJ Sharabi (0-1). Following a Jimmy Kerrigan fly out, Dylan Busby hit a broken bat single to score Rolette and tie the game at three. After Sherman Johnson was intentionally walked, Anderson lined a single into right field to score Randolph and give the Atomic Pork Chops a 4-3 victory.

Initially, Kane County starter Jose Fuentes and Milwaukee starter AJ Schugel were locked in a pitcher's duel. Both starters held their opponents without a hit for the first three innings. The Atomic Pork Chops took the lead in the bottom of the fourth against Milkmen reliever Jake Matthys. With two outs, Dylan Busby drew a walk to bring up Sherman Johnson, who promptly launched a home run over the right-field fence. Johnson's fifth blast of the season put Kane County ahead 2-0.

Following a rain delay, the Milkmen struck back in the top of the fifth against Kane County starter Jose Fuentes. Dylan Kelly led off the frame with a double before Aaron Hill singled, but a throwing error allowed Kelly to score and Hill to reach second. Later in the inning, Logan Trowbridge doubled to score Hill and tie the ballgame at two.

After Milwaukee tied the game at two, both teams were held scoreless for the next five innings. The Milkmen took the lead in the top of the 11th on an RBI double by Bryan Torres. However, Tyler Koch (1-0) was able to hold Milwaukee to just one run before Kane County walked it off in the bottom of the 11th.

The series with the Milkmen continues Saturday night. Right-hander Jack Fox (6-0, 2.08) will take the hill for Kane County, while the starter for Milwaukee is to be announced and first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. For tickets call 630-232-8811 or visit kccougars.com/tickets.
