RAIL YARD DAWGS ROSTER NEWS: Dawgs Set Opening Night Roster

October 19, 2017 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs News Release

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Thursday the full opening night roster for the 2017-18 season.

13 of 21 players on the roster appeared in at least one game for the Dawgs during the 2016-17 season. The list is headlined by 2016-17 All-SPHL Second Team defenseman Nick Schneider, who served as the first captain in franchise history. Six players will be competing in their first full professional season.

The Dawgs will begin the season with forward Colin Murray on injured reserve and rookie forward Viktor Tiutchenko on a three-game tryout contract. Head coach Sam Ftorek will set his captains prior to Friday night's puck drop.

A full roster is attached. Roanoke will open the second season in franchise history on Friday at 7:05 PM against the Fayetteville Marksmen at the Berglund Center.
