LAST TIME OUT: Tyler Gjurich scored twice, Ryan de Melo made 45 saves on 48 shots but the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs were defeated in overtime by the Huntsville Havoc, 3-2, Saturday night at the Berglund Center. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak but extended the Dawgs point streak to four games.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Ryan de Melo is expected to make his second straight start in net. de Melo was the goaltender during Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to Huntsville, stopping 45 of the 48 shots he faced. He has totaled a 2.93 GAA and a .934 SV % in his two games this season.

BABY NOW WE'VE GOT BAD BLOOD: The Rail Yard Dawgs and Ice Bears meet for the third time this season on Thursday night, with Knoxville having gone 2-0-0 in the first two. The teams racked up a combined 186 PIMs over the two games, including 75 for Knoxville and 62 for Roanoke during the 7-4 Ice Bears win on 10/22 in Tennessee.

ON A ROLL: Jackson Brewer and Steve Mele each picked up a pair of assists on Saturday against Huntsville and now have points in five straight games. Brewer and Mele's eight points are tied for the fourth most in the league and Brewer's seven assists are tied for second most. Their linemate Tyler Gjurich scored twice in the 3-2 loss and has points in four straight. Gjurich also has eight points, joining the tie for fourth most in the SPHL.

FIRE AT WILL: Roanoke was out-shot, 48-19, during Saturday's 3-2 loss to Huntsville, the most shots it has given up in a game and the biggest shot differential of the season. The Rail Yard Dawgs are now 3-0-1 when being out-shot by an opponent and 0-2-0 when out-shooting an opponent. Roanoke has been out-shot in every game of its current four-game point streak.

POWERFUL: Despite going 0-for-2 on the power play on Saturday to snap a streak of four consecutive games with a power play goal, the Dawgs power play boasts a 23.3% success rate, the second highest in the SPHL.

ROSTER SHUFFLE: Mike Moroso was placed on the 14-day disabled list on Saturday, Dmytro Babenko was signed on Saturday and Jason Popek was released on Wednesday.

ABOUT KNOXVILLE: The Ice Bears enter the weekend tied for second in the SPHL with 10 points. Knoxville is tied for the league lead in goals per game, has allowed the second fewest goals per game and boasts a 95% penalty kill success rate, tops in the league.

PACKING THEM IN: Roanoke currently leads the SPHL in attendance with an average of 4,222 fans per game.

UP NEXT: The Rail Yard Dawgs will return to action on Friday to host the Evansville Thunderbolts at 7:05 PM. Roanoke has gone 2-0-0 in two prior meetings with Evansville. The Thunderbolts are the only team in the SPHL that has yet to win a game.
