Raiders to play Benefit Game in Medicine Hat Tuesday

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders in conjunction with the Medicine Hat Tigers and Western Hockey League, will play a benefit exhibition game on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:00 PM at The Arena in Medicine Hat with all proceeds going to the Tony Aasman family.

Tony Aasman, father of Prince Albert Raiders 16 year-old defenceman Ryan Aasman, was recently diagnosed with cancer. The Aasman's live in Medicine Hat.

In the Medicine Hat hockey community, Tony Aasman has been a leader for many years, organizing events and tournaments to benefit many young players, including Ryan, who the Raiders selected with their first pick, 8th overall in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.

"One of Tony's dreams was to coach in the WHL and we are going to make that dream come true," said Dave Andjelic, Tigers' Director of Marketing and Media Relations. "Tony will be behind the Tigers bench for the game and it should be extra special that his son Ryan will be participating in the game as well."

"The Prince Albert Raiders are honoured to be invited to take part in this event to benefit Tony and his family," commented Bruce Vance, Raiders Director of Marketing and Media relations. "Ryan is a big part of the Raider family present and future and to be able to assist the Aasman's with this event is very important to our organization."

The game will be a full WHL exhibition contest.
