Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders are pleased to announce they will welcome members of Project Porchlight to their game Wednesday, October 22nd when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7:30 PM. Following the game, more than 1,000 Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs will be distributed to Raider fans as they exit the front doors of the Art Hauser Centre.
CFLs use at least 66% less electricity and last up to 8 times longer than incandescent bulbs. With support from SaskPower Eneraction, Project Porchlight volunteers are in the process of distributing 200,000 CFLs through out the province. The goal of the project which is under the One Change umbrella, is to get each household in Canada to change at least one incandescent bulb to a CFL which would be the equivalent of 66,000 cars off the roads in terms on emissions.
"Our fans are very environmentally conscious," says Bruce Vance, Raiders Director of Marketing & Media Relations. "I know they will be excited to become part of Project Porchlight and install the CFL bulb they receive free after our game October 22nd."
