Raiders Hand out Year-End Awards for 2021-22 Regular Season

Prince Albert, Sask. - The Prince Albert Raiders presented their Year-End Awards for the 2021-22 Regular Season at the Awards Banquet Presented By Great Western Brewing in the Ches Leach Lounge.

Rob Mahon, Voice of the Raiders on 900 CKBI, hosted the event as the Raiders presented 10 awards and gave special recognition to their overage players, Remy Aquilon and Reece Vitelli.

Alternate captain and Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nolan Allan won the Orland Kurtenbach Award as Most Valuable Player Presented By Lake Country Co-op. The defenceman has set new career highs across the board with seven goals and 38 points in 63 games.

Tikhon Chaika, Reece Vitelli, and Evan Herman were the recipients of the Three Stars Award Presented By Redhead Equipment. The recipients were chosen based on the three stars presented after games this season. Chaika was given First Star, Vitelli was second, and Herman was third.

Evan Herman was the recipient of two further awards - the Lionel Diehl Memorial Award as Hardest Working Player Presented by RE/MAX and the Players Choice Award Presented by Source For Sports Prince Albert. The Players Choice Award is voted to be the player that best exemplifies what it means to be a Prince Albert Raider.

One final award, the Dave Balon Award as Leading Scorer Presented By Northern Lights Casino, will be presented following Saturday's game at the Art Hauser Centre against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Best Defensive Forward - Sloan Stanick

George Cowie Award as Rookie of the Year Presented By Broda Construction - Tikhon Chaika

Jim Neilson Award as Most Valuable Defenceman Presented By North Star Signs - Landon Kosior

Players Choice Award Presented By Source For Sports - Evan Herman

Orland Kurtenbach Award as Most Valuable Player Presented By Lake Country Co-op - Nolan Allan

The Raiders play their final road game of the 2021-22 regular season on Friday night when they travel to Swift Current for a crucial game in the push for the WHL Playoffs against the Broncos at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex. Game time is 7 p.m. Catch the game on 900 CKBI with Rob Mahon, watch on WHL Live, or head to either The Rock and Iron or Original Joe's.

The next Raiders' home game is also the Raiders' final game of the regular season when the Brandon Wheat Kings come to town on Saturday. The game is a rescheduled contest from Saturday, January 29. Tickets purchased for the original date will be honoured for the game.
